Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Programme curriculum covers main aspects of modern computer science and technology with emphasis on software engineering.
The programme mainly aims to train computer software engineers and computer system engineers capable of designing, developing, administrating and operating computer software and computer system applications. The programme is also designed to train computer science professionals for academic and research purpose. The programme curriculum offers intensive education in computer technologies and computer applications while providing education in solid mathematical background.
Programme Intended Learning Outcomes
- An ability to apply knowledge of computing and mathematics to solve complex computing problems in computer science discipline.
- An ability to apply knowledge of a computing specialisation, and domain knowledge appropriate for the computing specialisation to the abstraction and conceptualisation of computing models.
- An ability to analyse a problem, and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution.
- An ability to design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, social and environmental considerations.
- An ability to function effectively on teams to accomplish a common goal.
- An understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities.
- An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
- An ability to analyse the local and global impact of computing on individuals, organisations, and society.
- Recognition of the need for and an ability to engage in continuing professional development.
- An ability to use current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for computing practice with an understanding of the limitations.
