The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) Summer Camp 2013, which is organized by the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), University of Macau (UM) and sponsored by the Science and Technology Development Fund for the sixth year, kicked off on 21 June 2013. The Summer Camp has attracted nearly 300 applicants from over 20 local secondary school and over a hundred people including high school teachers, students and their parents participated in the opening ceremony..
There were booths about the five theme-based summer camps namely “Wireless Technology Study Summer Camps”, “Computer Science Exploration Summer Camp”, “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Summer Camp”, “Applied Electromechanical Engineering in Light Rapid Transit Summer Camp” and “Civil Engineering Summer Camp” which exhibited previous summer camp projects. Participants were able to learn from games, explanation and description of previous summer camp projects.
The Science and Technology Development Fund Administrative Committee Members, Mr. Cheang Kun Wai and Mr. Chan Wan Hei; Senior Officer of Transportation Infrastructure Office, Ms. Carolina Ho; Dean of FST, UM, Prof. Philip Chen; Director of Government Relations and Industry Liaison of FST, Prof. Tam Kam Weng; Head of the Research & Development Administration Office, Ms. Cindy Lam; Director of Academic Research, Prof. Li Yangmin; Head of Department of Computer and Information Science, Prof. Gong Zhigong; Head of Department of Electromechanical Engineering, Prof. Wong Pak Kin; together with a humanoid robot, inaugurated the FST Summer Camp 2013 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Dean of FST, Philip Chen indicated that these summer camps are all designed to help develop students’ interests and potential in science and technology, and enhance their organizational and teamwork skills.
獲澳門科學技術發展基金連續第六年資助,澳門大學科技學院今年繼續舉辦科技夏令營,並於6月21日舉行開營儀式。是次活動吸引二十多所中學近三百位學生報名,反應熱烈。澳大科技學院院長陳俊龍教授希望透過一系列精心設計的實踐工作坊,讓中學生體驗科研工作的樂趣,啟發其科學潛能。
是次開營儀式有全功能形機器人參與剪綵,高科技技術結合傳統儀式,令在場人士耳目一新。現場還設有五個不同主題的夏令營攤位,學生及家長不僅可欣賞上屆夏令營的成果,更可以透過遊戲及講解者之解說,加深了解夏令營的學習內容。過百名本澳中學老師、學生及家長出席活動,場面熱鬧。
陳俊龍院長表示,科技學院一直致力以不同方式推動本澳的科普教育,夏令營是其中一個平台,中學生可在有趣互動的環境中認識科研技術,並瞭解這些技術如何應用於生活。
各主題的夏令營均具備啟發潛能與趣味元素。「無線科技研習夏令營」鼓勵學員親手設計和製作實驗工具,探索無線電在勘探、定位和追蹤上的功能。「計算機科學探索夏令營」可體驗電腦圖像、動畫及遊戲製作,探索由科技學院師生開發的中葡機器翻譯的原理,學員還可透過設計鐵路管理及交通燈控制系統工作坊了解現今電腦技術帶來的便利。
此外,「機器人與人工智能夏令營」可學習Pololu移動機器人及全功能人形機器人、嵌入式硬件/軟件工程、多功能的機器人技術、圖像處理、智能視頻分析等知識。「應用機電工程技術於輕軌工程夏令營」的內容有:PLC於輕軌控制系統的應用、輕軌的鋼材及電接觸材料、系統安全檢測與診斷,以及人因工程的車廂設計考慮,讓學員學習機電工程技術於輕軌工程上的應用。「土木工程夏令營」則通過趣味工程實驗、集體遊戲、工程模型製作比賽、書院住宿體驗等互動和啓發式的活動,使學員了解土木工程各領域的相關知識。
澳門科學技術發展基金行政委員會委員鄭冠偉、陳允熙、運輸基建辦公室高級技術員何翠怡、澳大科技學院院長陳俊龍教授、科技學院政府關係及工業聯絡主任譚錦榮教授和研究及發展事務辦公室主任林鈺儀、科技學院研究中主任李楊民教授、電腦及資訊科學系主任鞏志國教授、機電工程系主任王百鍵教授主持開營儀式。出席儀式的還包括各中學教師、一眾學生及家長等。
