Auto-Stereoscopic Display Technology

Abstract

Auto-stereoscopic display can provide a promising 3D display technology for users to see natural 3D color images with stereo and motion parallax. The talk will give an introduction to popular types of auto-stereoscopic displays.

Most auto-stereoscopic displays suffer from the limitations of both the insufficient spatial resolution and lack of real-time content generation strategies. An introduction on the recently published research work at Siggraph 2014 & Siggraph Asia 2014 in solving the problem will be given.

Finally, an introduction to the computer graphics/virtual reality technology for current mobile devices will be also given.
